La Clique à Pao is een Frans-Nederlands kwartet rond componist, tekstschrijver en chansonnier Pao uit de Auvergne. Pao zal heel wat hebben zitten staren naar het firmament om de teksten voor zijn liedjes te kunnen schrijven. In zijn poëzie reizen we door een universum van echte vissen en gefantaseerde wolven, monsters, goeroes en betonnen vrouwen. Pao weet zijn publiek door elkaar te schudden met vragen over de wereld en wat het is om een mens te zijn die terugkeert naar de bron van het bestaan.
In de muziek van La Clique à Pao hoor je Brel en Ferré doorklinken in een akoestisch samenspel met invloeden van jazz, latin, funk, blues en de traditionele muziek uit de Auvergne. Licht, klaterend, poëtisch. Als het aan ons lag werd er meteen een zonnestraal naar hen vernoemd.

Uncompromising yet poetic, characterizes Pao’s lyrics. Accompanied by a perfect blend of acoustic jazz, blues, folk and latino music, he takes us into his world peopled with small fish, scary monsters, concrete women and false prophets.
Pao questions spectators about their human condition, inviting us all to go back to our roots. Backed up by Bam Commijs on the piano, Heather Leslie on the cello and Chloé Saitta on the violin, the rich harmonies of his compositions resonate deep within us and conjure up images of Jacques Brel and Léo Ferré.

La Clique A Pao, c’est un quartet franco-hollandais à géométrie variable réuni autour des chansons de Pao, auteur-compositeur-interprète. Poésie sans concessions, ses textes nous invitent à découvrir un univers où se croisent des personnages hauts en couleur : poissons du réel et loups imaginaires, monstres et gourous, femmes de béton. Pao nous interpelle, nous questionne sur notre condition d’humains et nous invite à un retour aux sources. Ses compositions aux harmonies riches font résonner en nous son inspiration première que sont Brel et Ferré. On se balade sur le fil des mots, parfois tranchants, parfois funambules, le tout porté par un univers sonore définitivement acoustique aux couleurs jazz, latin, folk, blues, trad.
